I found this excellent source of links to information about American Girl dolls:

One link I hadn't seen before is the "Nancy Hanks". Also, the eBay buying guide (listed as "Identifying, guide" is totally excellent!

Wow! Thanks for posting this, I also found the Nancy Hank article really interesting!
They have the date wrong, (they say it was in catalogues 1987-1990), I know this picture, and accompanying letter is on the back of the first AG catalogue I have- Christmas 1994. One of my favorite Pleasant Rowland catalogue letters [img]smile.gif[/img] .
Funny they changed the trunk. The original looks similar to Kit's, wonder if it was part of the inspiration?
